Tango Simulacrum is a performance work in collaboration with Tamarah Kerling. Tamarah Kerling studied classical and contemporary dance at the National Dance Academy Amsterdam and at ArtEZ University of the Arts Arnhem.
Martin and Kerling present a choreography for Igor Stravinsky's Tango from 1940. (played by Konstantin Semilakovs). The performance is based on the concept of an open rehearsal. Crucial element is the interaction between choreographer and dancer. The dance movements, interruptions, corrections and repetitions create a novel rhythm of gestures. (photo: Jan de Bruin)
